Phil Neville pictured in first day of Valencia training after becoming assistant manager

Phil Neville has overseen his first training session with Valencia after being appointed assistant manager of the La Liga club.

The 38-year-old left his role as a BBC pundit following a spell as a coach at Manchester United, which came to an end with the sacking of David Moyes, now manager of Real Sociedad.

Neville had been in discussions with Valencia for several weeks and rejected an offer to become Steve McClaren's No 2 at Newcastle United by taking the job in Spain
